Bartley’s roots run deep in Madison County—a veteran trial lawyer and lifelong Huntsvillian with more than $300 million in results.

A lifelong resident of Madison County and a second-generation lawyer, Bartley knows Huntsville’s legal community and its courts as well as anyone. He spent 30 years practicing in the Huntsville office of Alabama’s five largest law firms, including 24 years as a partner, before deciding to found Loftin Holt so he can better serve his clients directly. While his practice is centered on business litigation, three decades of experience have given him the range to handle nearly any matter a client may face, including personal injury, intellectual property disputes, real property litigation, estate disputes, whistleblower litigation, and white-collar criminal matters.

Bartley has tried cases, mediated disputes, and conducted arbitrations in state and federal courts across Alabama, Tennessee, Delaware, California, Pennsylvania, and beyond. He has obtained multiple verdicts and settlements in excess of $1,000,000, including the largest reported settlement in Madison County history at more than $200,000,000, and has served as lead counsel in matters that have produced roughly $300,000,000 in verdicts and settlements for plaintiffs alone. He has also successfully defended companies and individuals in cases that saved them hundreds of millions of dollars. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants throughout his career, Bartley brings a rare, well-rounded perspective to every case he takes on.
