Mike’s practice is devoted exclusively to civil litigation, and few attorneys in North Alabama can match his trial experience: he has taken more than 100 cases to a jury verdict across 11 counties, in both state and federal court. His docket has ranged widely—trucking and automobile accidents, products and premises liability, insurance and business disputes, will contests, and estate and trust litigation—representing both plaintiffs and defendants over the course of his career, on matters spanning from straightforward auto accident claims to serious injury and wrongful death cases.

Before entering private practice, Mike clerked for the Honorable Orma Smith, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Mississippi, an experience that sharpened the instincts he has relied on through decades in the courtroom. That volume of trial work has given him a practical, clear-eyed read on how cases actually play out in front of a jury, and clients turn to him for exactly that: a lawyer who has seen nearly every version of a case before and knows how to try it.
